MARYSVILLE – If one were to choose a word that covers the upcoming Friday Nights Uptown at Partners Park and the Memorial Health Pavilion scheduled for Friday, that word would be “classic.”
As in classic rock and country music as provided by McGuffey Lane – the unofficial house band for the city of Marysville – who will hit the stage in the Pavilion at 6 p.m. As in vintage cars in the Uptown Classic Car Show, presented by Marysville Motors, Honda Marysville and Heather Mershon of LRG Realty. As in classic food and drinks as brought to you in a phalanx of food trucks.
The Classics Car Show will be featuring rides that were built prior to 1998 and the Uptown has room for up to 125 cars and trucks of all makes and models. There will be a total of 25 awards to be handed out at the Classics Car Show, including the Best of the Best, Best Survivor, Best Muscle Car, the People’s Choice Award and the Best Honda.
Registration to show off your ride will be $20 online and $22 the day of the show, with all proceeds going to Habitat for Humanity of Union/Delaware Counties, a 501(c)(3) organization that is striving to provide sorely needed affordable housing in the area.
Organizers ask that car owners arrive at 5 p.m. and start lining up on S. Plum St. between 5th and 6th St’s, with a staging area in the city parking lot behind the Elks Lodge. All cars should be in place by 6 p.m. and the awards will be handed out at 9 p.m. The forecast is for sunshine and warm weather, but the show will go on rain or shine. For more information and to pre-register for the Uptown Classic Car Show, contact Heather Mershon at 614.537.6702, via email at [email protected], or visit the website here.
